Bug Description

This was first reported in Mint 15, but apparently that bug report was never acted on and is long forgotten.

Mint 17 Cinnamon 64 bit

What I expect: that after formatting a USB drive using the right-click menu in Nemo I can copy files to and from it.

What happens: if I attempt to copy a file to the drive an error pops up:

Error while copying to "New Volume"
The designation is read-only.

In order to move files to the formatted USB drive I need to open Nemo is SU mode.

1) When a drive is formatted it should be accessible to the user that is formatting it, not just to root.
2)If a regular non-SU user formats the USB stick, then a regular non-SU user, should also be able to write a file to it.

Problem still exists at Mint Mate 17.3 and 18 Beta. Format, cannot copy since it is considered R/O. Copy via cp command works though.

The problem is still prevalent in Linux Mint 18.3! It is confirmed to be an issue with Nemo file manger, namely owner & permissions given by formatting software and how Nemo handles it. I have found a forum thread that relates to this issue. I have verified that Thunar is not effected but this needs to be resolved with the prepackaged software.
