This was first reported in Mint 15, but apparently that bug report was never acted on and is long forgotten.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1218076
Mint 17 Cinnamon 64 bit
What I expect: that after formatting a USB drive using the right-click menu in Nemo I can copy files to and from it.
What happens: if I attempt to copy a file to the drive an error pops up:
Error while copying to "New Volume"
The designation is read-only.
In order to move files to the formatted USB drive I need to open Nemo is SU mode.
1) When a drive is formatted it should be accessible to the user that is formatting it, not just to root.
2)If I a regular non-SU user formats the USB stick, then a regular non-SU user, should also be able to write a file to it. |
