The problem occurred with version 1.1.3. (In the meantime it has been updated to version 1.1.4.)

Yes, there was this yellow bar asking me to insert the installation DVD or flash drive. I inserted the USB stick and clicked on Yes, but the bar did not disappear. (The bar only disappeared after mounting the drive manually.)
> Also, it's worth mentioning that mintdrivers only asks for the live medium and mounts it if and only if you're not connected to the Internet. If you are, it assumes it's able to install from the Web.
No, I was not connected to the Internet. (No wired connection and wireless was not working because of the missing driver.)
