Bug Description

I have just installed Mint 17 Mate on a laptop that needs a proprietary wlan driver (Broadcom). I had no problems activating the driver in Driver Manager prior to installation, but after rebooting, wlan did not work anymore. So I inserted the Mint installation flash drive and opened Driver Manager again, but this time I was not able to activate the driver. (I also tried opening Driver Manager first and then inserting the flash drive, but this did not help either.) Only after mounting the flash drive manually,* I was finally able to activate the driver in Driver Manager.

* sudo mkdir /media/mint && sudo mount -o ro /dev/sdb1 /media/mint

This was fixed post-RC. What version of mintdrivers do you have?

Prior to plugging in the flash drive, was there an info bar asking you to do so within mintdrivers?

Also, it's worth mentioning that mintdrivers only asks for the live medium and mounts it if and only if you're not connected to the Internet. If you are, it assumes it's able to install from the Web.

The problem occurred with version 1.1.3. (In the meantime it has been updated to version 1.1.4.)

Yes, there was this yellow bar asking me to insert the installation DVD or flash drive. I inserted the USB stick and clicked on Yes, but the bar did not disappear. (The bar only disappeared after mounting the drive manually.)

No, I was not connected to the Internet. (No wired connection and wireless was not working because of the missing driver.)

PS: And everytime I selected the proprietary driver and clicked on 'Apply Changes', the radio button jumped back to 'Do not use this device' after a while.
