It's a HDD that caches data on a slmaller SSD. So it's almost as fast as an SDD but can be of the size (and price) of a conventional HDD.

To me it looks the same issue I am seeing on my SSD device. Given that
it is an SSD device, I disable the following in my
/etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf file.

CONTROL_HD_WRITECACHE=0
CONTROL_HD_POWERMGMT=0
CONTROL_HD_IDLE_TIMEOUT=0
CONTROL_READAHEAD=0

Please reply back to this bug report if these settings fix your problem.

I set the following:
CONTROL_HD_POWERMGMT=0 (it was "auto")
CONTROL_HD_IDLE_TIMEOUT=0 (it was 1)

and the errors stopped.

CONTROL_HD_WRITECACHE was already 0
CONTROL_READAHEAD is set to 1

Thanks!
