Bug Description
I know we are not able to export in .ai format, but i was wondering if
you could give me any idea on how to export files from inkscape and
make them readable on illustrator. The other thing is, im working with
flash under wine wich works really nice, and im able to make all my
flash development under linux with wine, but im trying to copy/paste
from inkscape to flash, and im not able to do it, so i thought it could be
wine that was giving problems, so i went to my windows box, installed
inkscape for windows, and tried the same thing copy/paste from
inkscape to flash but im not able to, so i was wondering if you could
manage that, cause it is REALLY AMAZINGLY important for web
designers. In Adobe Illustrator im able to copy/paste from it to flash,
and they are not the same maker Adobe/Macromedia, so i was
wondering if you could do this somehow, cause if you are able to do it,
you are going to have a bunch of web designers using inkscape in no
time :). Copy/Pasting from one appl to another is really useful.
I found that im able to copy/paste from inkscape to freehand, but the
important thing is to copy/paste from inkscape to flash, cause we wont
need another Vector appl, ever. :) cause flash cant import SVG or so.
Congratulations for such a great Software.

These kinds of questions are more suited to the inkscape
user mailing list. However we try very hard to be helpful
and friendly here so I will do my best to answer your
question anyway.
Adobe Illustrator should be able to import the SVG exported
by Inkscape without modifcations. Please let us know if it
doesn't.
Adobe Illustrator should definately be able to import the
SVG exported by Inkscape if you make sure to choose the
"Standard SVG" option which removes some Inkscape specific
features from the saved file (such as guides for example).
Macromedia do not support SVG but that is probably because
they want everyone to use Flash but still they should be
import SVG.
If you are a paying customer of Macromedia I would certainly
encourage you to complain to them about it and request they
add some sort of support.
Exporting as EPS, Encapsulated Postscript should be a format
that can be imported by applications that do not support SVG.
Better copy and paste support is another question entirely,
it is not a feature that exists yet and would definately
take a considerable amount of work.
Again asking the list would be advisable.
