Bug Description

Wacom tablet.
Bugs as people report.
But:
if I disconnect tablet before run application then it works FINE !
if I leave table connected and run application then coursor is moving but no actions.

Changing settings for tablet in settings menu manually can cause critical error when starting app with tablet connected.
( app shows critical error on start ).

So if you plug the tablet in after Inkscape is running, it works as expected? I just want to make sure I understand you. Additionally, if this is the case, would you be willing to test it with 0.48.2?

Cheers,
Josh

Yes.
When the app window is avaliable then I can plug the tabled in.

Yes I'll do some tests with 0.48.2.

I've version 0.48.2 portable which shows that it's a version 0.48.1 ?!

Tablet:
The same problem. Cannot draw anything.
Controls, Icons and menu works with the tablet, but drawing does not.

Could this be the same 'trick' as described in these forum comments?
<http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=4107>
<http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10248&p=38985#p38196>
(start with mouse, then unplug mouse and plug-in tablet once Inkscape is running. Alternatively (IIRC), other users recommended to start Inkscape with the pen right from the beginning)

We also had this observation reported:
<http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9558&p=35484#p35484>
«In the end it was the fact that the Wacom mouse was sitting on the Wacom tablet off to the side. It prevented my wireless HP mouse from interacting with Inkscape. The moment I removed the mouse from the tablet, it all worked well.»
<http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9674&p=35845#p35845>

AFAIU these reports were for Inkscape 0.48.1 and older versions. Inkscape 0.48.2 on Windows uses a newer GTK+ stack which appears to have improved tablet support, but on the other hand introduces new issues with pressure sensitivity for some Windows users: see
 Bug #881050 “Pressure-Sensitive tablet on Wacom bamboo pen & touch”
 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/881050>
and the linked reports/topics in the comments there.
