I just had a quick look. The first time I tried, I had the same problem but now I cannot recreate it. My guess is that it may be due to a mismatch between font-family and -inkscape-font-specification in one's preferences file. Hopefully some of these "CSS" problems will get straightened out by Abhishek during this years GSOC.
So I don't forget... I just noticed that -inkscape-font-specification uses a ',' to separate the font-family from attributes like "bold". This is bad! font-family can contain a comma separated list of alternative fonts.
