I was told that the alarms sound aren't going through media-hub, but they should. This might be the case of the stuttering.

jdstrand, right, that's covered in bug #1283065.

I agree fixing that may have a positive affect on this bug :-)

Adding powerd to the Affects list:

<charles> the other issue I'm seeing (or rather, hearing) is a 'stutter' in the alarm sound, https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-datetime/+bug/1320877
<ubot5> Ubuntu bug 1320877 in Indicator Date and Time "alarm sound sometimes 'stutters'" [Undecided,New]
<charles> ok
<rsalveti> right, I think that will be solved once the powerd side is implemented
<rsalveti> it's a race because the device is still trying to suspend
<rsalveti> it wakes up but it'll try to suspend right after the alarm starts ringing
<charles> rsalveti, should powerd be added to that ticket?
<rsalveti> sure, that's my theory at least, let me try to reproduce here again
<rsalveti> yeah, if the device is up the alarm plays fine

Just confirmed this, image #77 with silo 14 enabled (indicator-datetime 13.10.0+14.10.20140611-0ubuntu1 and lxc-android-config 0.171). The alarm tone sounds like a CD player skipping.

I think this can be marked Fix Released now. I haven't noticed the issue in some time (using r133 now but also the previous promoted image).

I still experience this issue. On talking to charles, he said this should be fixed when https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-clock-app/+bug/1340329 is fixed. Marking clock app as affected to track it there as well.

On testing https://launchpad.net/~ci-train-ppa-service/+archive/ubuntu/landing-006/+packages, the alarm stutter issue seems to have been fixed. I tested this with several alarms and waited long enough for the phone to go to deep sleep and see if that triggers the issue. I say this is fixed due to https://code.launchpad.net/~charlesk/indicator-datetime/lp-1340329-when-alarm-is-shown-inhibit-sleep-and-force-display-on.

Lets merge it! :-)

Marking powerd task as Critical since this issue needs to be fixed for rtm. If the fix for indicator-datetime is sufficient, please comment.

Charles, can you mark the indicator-datetime task priority to Critical since this must be delivered for rtm? Thanks!
