When starting nautilus the focus is set to the left panel instead of the folder content. When using keyboard type file or folder name it selects from the items in the left panel instead of the folder contents. To use keyboard in nautilus to select a file or folder you have to first click or tab to the folder content to focus it before typing.
The default focus should be on the folder content to allow the user to select a file or folder using keyboard immediately.
