Bug Description
I have a CP2025DN HP Color LaserJet on my network. It initially was recognized and printed great (for a couple weeks this fall). I am connected to my network on my Ubuntu laptop with wireless. I have not tried connecting with a wire, as it is not a viable option. I started getting communication errors with this printer. It makes it look like it is disconnected.
However, when I use the standard tool (not the hplip gui) to add the printer it recognizes it just fine and identifies it by name and by IP address. It adds the printer but won't print to it. I have tried changing the uri to reflect the IP address (10.1.64.133) instead of the hostname. No luck.
This printer is on a windows network in a large school domain. It is shared to the windows network via a windows server. I can see this and add it as a Samba printer but it is problematic and prints crazy black bars on many documents.
I have purged hplip. I have gone through and deleted the config folders related to hplip, per the hplip site. I have reinstalled from apt-get and have reinstalled hplip and hplip-gui from the hplip site.
I have an hp 6500 e709a at home and it prints great. However, it is of course, out of contact when I am at work.
I am a domain user (connected with likewise-open). I am functioning as an admin with sudo. However, it sometimes gives me an error about not being in the lpadmin group when I use hp-setup, even if I use "sudo hp-setup."
When I run "sudo hp-setup" I get the following:
pwebster@
[sudo] password for pwebster:
HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 3.10.9)
Printer/Fax Setup Utility ver. 9.0

I'm wondering if it can't handle uid numbers this high. I'm guessing this is because of my domain membership. However, I get the same results when I run this as a local admin user.
When I run hp-check I get the following:
MMSLib
