I just ugraded from 3.9.4b to 3.9.8 and have the same problem. The hplip device manager show the duplex option on, but I only get the one-sided option in any application I print from. I have an HP OfficeJet J6480 connect via wifi to my network. I'm running Ubuntu 9.04.
