Okay, another update: The newest Windows driver from the HP website also works, but only when printing via USB, but not when printing over a network share.

Is it possible that the printer driver is reading some information from the printer that is used to correct this problem? Might the hplip driver try to do the same, but fail due to some reason(e.g. wrong permissions, whatever)? Or is this feature not implemented in hplip?

It would be great if this issue could be resolved. It is the only problem I have left, otherwise this printer is working perfectly.
