Yes, absolutely, that's why i like it. Seems like conversation:
App: “Hey, dude! something changed here! wanna know about it?”
User: “I guess...”
App: “In this mode you see <something-depends-on-current-mode>”
User: “Gotcha!”
App: “By the way, if you want to go back just click here.”

Brilliant!
However, we should remember other approaches of implementation this idea.
Key word is Microsoft — they show us great [2] examples of assistants which should help users to understand an application and interact with it.
And the consequence of these examples is it shouldn't be annoying (see my previous comment [1]).

[2] Great for learning how it shouldn't be, because many users actually hates those assistants.
