Sorry Martin, the log file wasn't filling up because of permissions -- duh.
I've now attached the log.
I traversed to ~/Projects, clicked Fetch Project, searched 'Ground
Control' and the search field stayed there as you said was intended.
Then I searched 'Get Deb' and the string froze at 'Searching Launchpad
- please wait...'
Also, it doesn't look like the results were correct either. The only
tuple returned was
"Get Life Magazine
Culture, inspiration and technology magazine lp:get"
