Bug Description

Add a search template for the OPAC search, so that librarians can set, per workstation, predefined OPAC search criteria. This template would be created/edited from the Admin->Workstation Administration configuration, and could specify any or all of the following:

Search filters (keyword, title, Contains, Contains Phrase, etc.)
Item Type, Language, and Audience settings
Search Library
Publication Date
Search Results
Result View
Limit to Available

The template is stored on the librarian's workstation, in the same folder as other workstation settings, with a name set by the librarian on the search template create/edit page. Creating/editing a template causes that template to be the currently selected template. The current template can also be explicitly set in the workstation settings, and also at the OPAC search page.

Templates can be deleted once created.

A default template can be selected, which implements current OPAC search criteria behavior (remembers previous search criteria).

When the OPAC search page is entered, the search criteria is set to the criteria specified by the template. Subsequent searches would also set the search criteria to the search template criteria. These criteria could be changed by the librarian prior to the next search; however, subsequent searches would again set search criteria to the template criteria.

Changed in evergreen:
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: New → Triaged
tags: added: search

Noting that with the new Angular Staff Catalog, you can create and save multiple Search Templates. (However, I have not experimented with them enough to determine whether or not they meet the needs of this wish list or not.)

The search templates in the new Angular staff catalog include everything on the Advanced Search (I haven't personally tested all of the options to verify that they are retained and applied in the search, but they seem to be.) I don't see a way to set the default view.

Other related bugs:
Bug 1837478 -- creation of angular staff catalog search templates (released)

Bug 1923500 -- search templates don't include checkboxes (limit to available, group formats/editions, results from all libraries, and exclude electronic resources)

Bug 1946676 -- suggest default search template functionality (not available currently, at least not in staff catalog)

More testing and discussion needed about inclusion of the following criteria in the search templates:
Search Library
Item Type, Language, and Audience settings
Publication Date

An additional suggestion is to make these staff search templates exportable/importable so that if someone makes a series they prefer, they can easily share with peers or reimport
