Truecrypt Volumes are files or whole partitions. They can be on external harddiscs or just your internal drive. This does not matter.

To mount these files/partitions at first Truecrypt is started with root permissions. Then you have to select that file/partition in Truecrypt and enter a password. If that password was correct Truecrypt mounts the partition at /media/truecrypt[1-100].
The number can be choosen freely and therefore should not be changing.

I told DD to use /media/truecrypt10 as my backupdestination. Because of this i have to mount my external drive manually at position "10" each time DD reminds me of a backup (with the error popup cause destination folder is missing) and then restart the DD manually.

Thank you for your engagement!
