Can confirm this is still happening, deja-dup-monitor was happily munching on 64 GB of RAM and completely hogging the machine (Ubuntu 14.04.3, updated a few minutes ago).
In my case I installed and started the NoMachine NX server (with XFCE desktop in user-mode). Don't have Chrome remote desktop installed.
Like others, I removed deja dup with `sudo apt-get remove deja-dup` and the problem was solved.
