eviewer not showing book though open on taskbar

recent problem. unable to read book in calibre 3.32. viewer shows open on taskbar but cannot actually open up on screen to read book. windows 7. epub version. can convert successfully to any format. recently added kfx decryption to calibre.

Well I thought I had it sorted. Now it is a problem again. Turned off antivirus, turned off firewall. Added exe to exception list. Problem returns intermittently. i do agree something is interfering with this exe, but i am at a loss to know what. The problem with calibre-parallel.exe is intermittent. Any other areas I can look in?

you can run your computer in safe mode and see if the problem goes away. If it does then you know it is some program interfering. Sadly the oly way to find out which one is to disable them one by one till you find the culprit.

Very difficult when the problem is intermittent. I've installed an epub reader and configured it into calibre with your "open with" plugin. Anyway to change the default ebook viewer to the new reader? Just a workaround.

PS there has be no new programs installed since this recent eviewer problem started.

I unchecked epub from internal viewer and an ebook now opens with ADE. That could work, but is not my first choice for viewer. I cannot find the location to have my viewer of choice.

windows, calibre will use it automatically.
