1) Yes, this is why I quoted bug 997462 in the description.
and 2) yes, same for me with librecad, removing the qt-at-spi solves the
problem !

Thank you for your help.

After having deleted Orca I had the issue that kd3-qt crashed when I tried to open the Music-directory in the ~-directory.
No problem opening it via the "Computer"-directory.

Today I received a hint to this page and removed the qt-at-spi-package. There is no problem anymore with kd3-qt.

Hopefully this might help a little bit to find the reason for the bug.

Problem can be in qt-at-spi package dependencies - I've tried to upgrade qt-at-spi package from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS to newer releases - 0.3.0 and 0.3.1 but this crash still appears in QT applications, even with latest qt-at-spi 0.3.1 :(

This bug is very old, but removing qt-at-spi fixed qtiplot crashing on displaying an import/export dialogue which was suddenly appearing (from one hour to another without rebooting, updating, etc., according to the user) on an Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bit).
Updating to the latest version and rebooting did not fix this problem, so I started googling and found this bug report..
