Bug Description
Binary package hint: kshutdown
Problem discovered during Herd 5 Testing of Kubuntu Live CD
Test performed on
Tohsiba A75-226 Laptop
Asus P4P800 MB on Normal Desktop Unit
Problem
Boot CD
Select Kmenu
Select Logout
Select Shutdown (Turn off may be new wording here)
Shutdown procedes normally
Message displayed something like
Remove CD and Close Tray
Hit Enter to continue
Problem
CD is not ejected and you cannot eject it manually with
the button on the CD/DVD
Press Enter
Shutdown continues and powers off unit, but LIVE CD is
still in the CD/DVD drive.
Not critical, but new user may not know how to get CD out of drive.

I experienced the same installing Kubuntu on a Toshiba Equium-L20 laptop. I'd guess the problem is with casper, rather than Kshutdown.
