Bug Description

Affected configurations:

Ubuntu 11.04 (amd64)
banshee 2.0.0-2ubuntu2

Ubuntu 11.10 (i386, amd64)
banshee 2.2.0-1ubuntu2

---

Additional info: on amd64 systems my Banshee music library is (was) big enough, last.fm scrobbling is (was) on; but this has nothing to do with Ubuntu 11.10 i386 which I ran in VirtualBox and have reproduced that issue succesfully in it.

---

Sometimes, when a number of songs is added from library to "play queue" and playback is started, only the first unplayed song in the queue is played and then playback is stopped; that 1st song (that has just been listened) is not grayed out as listened, but remains black as new in the queue.
After double-click on the 1st or the 2nd song (which are not greyed-out as listened) the playback goes well and doesn't stop on the 1st, 2nd or whatever song.

Another great useful way of reproducing the bug (more similar to duplicate bug #595600, some steps seem to be not important, but anyway it worked for me):
1) get the Banshee installed;
2) have some music albums imported into it (well, I think that 5 albums is more than enough);
3) selected one album in the music library, right-click on it and select "add it to play queue";
4) double-click on the "play queue" in the left panel;
5) the music should start playing;
6) try to move through the songs in the play queue with "play the previous item" and "play the next item" buttons;
7) try to move within the current song by dragging the slider;
8) well, you don't need to listen all the songs here; just move through the play queue to the song before the last;
9) you can minimize the window and enjoy the music until the music is over;
3) selected another album in the music library, right-click on it and select "add it to play queue";
4) select any song from the freshly added album in the played queue by single click on it;
4) double-click on the "play queue" in the left panel;
5) get back to the library, select the album you've just added and select any song in it;
6) you can minimize the window and enjoy the music;
7) WHAT?! Only the first song from the newly-added album is played back and no more!

This can also be related to bug #882748.

Is this bug produced precisely as described in bug 595600? If so, then you should mark this bug a duplicate of bug 595600, after changing bug 595600's status from Invalid to New. Otherwise, you should either comment in that bug (if this bug is produced very differently, such that they are not really the same bug), or mark that bug (even though it is older) a duplicate of this bug (so that you can provide more information in this bug as requested).

If this bug is not marked as a duplicate, then please run "apport-collect 882740" (without the quotes) to attach more detailed information about your system to this bug. This is important because there has been difficulty reproducing this bug, so a higher degree of specificity may prove useful. (Since it may be possible for a developer to work on this bug without that information, I am not changing this bug's status to Incomplete, but I do strongly recommend you apport-collect this bug.) On the other hand, if this bug is marked as a duplicate of bug 595600, then please comment in bug 595600 explaining what is happening on your system and providing your Ubuntu release and banshee package versions, and run "apport-collect 595600" to attach the information from your system to that bug.

(The idea is that whichever bug is going to be the main one, it should contain the necessary information to work on this problem.)

Please run "apport-collect 882740" on the affected system. This is important because, in duplicate bug 595600, responders were unable to reproduce the problem, even with the same banshee version and Ubuntu release. It seems likely that this might happen here as well (since this is probably the same bug as bug 595600). So it is important to know more about your system.

degeneracypressure, I'll do that info collection as soon as I see that issue again.

apport-collection does not extract data from the running process (which is unlike invoking ubuntu-bug with the PID, which does). Therefore, so long as you are still running the same version of banshee and you have not changed its configuration or related configuration on your system, it should work fine for you run "apport-collect 882740" now on the affected system, even if you are not presently experiencing the problem.

I've added apport-collected info only for my Natty system, 'cause I've already removed banshee from system with Oneiric.
