Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the release candidate kernel versus the daily build. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I'm using this as my main machine, does that cause instability?

You can boot back to your original kernel, using the grub menu, once you test the mainline kernel.

This is simply bizarre. You should be running the iwl4965 driver, e.g.,

rtg@xps1710:~/proj/ubuntu-oneiric$ lsmod|grep iwl
iwl4965 132375 0
iwl_legacy 83487 1 iwl4965
mac80211 310872 2 iwl4965,iwl_legacy
cfg80211 199587 3 iwl4965,iwl_legacy,mac80211

yet it appears you have installed the iwlagn driver. Perhaps you could try:

sudo modprobe -r iwlagn
sudo modprobe iwl4965

I find wireless is working, it is just not initializing correctly with saved information like SSID & WPA2 keys (in my case). Once the information is provided, wifi does connect.

This is a major annoyance, however, because it means re-configuring wireless after every suspend.

Hi, in my case the solution worked. I've added to my /etc/modules list and now the wireless card works :)

I don't know about the network list, but did you made the change permanent (added to modules) or are you using the two commands provided?
