I wonder if you still see (sometimes?) the addtional startup delay with this fix. It seems this is only a issue on ecryptfs system.

Just double-checked on my machine, and Software Center took about 7 seconds worth of startup time before it was completely ready.

Now using version 4.1.23.6.

On my system Software Centre Looks like it is starting normally, the then closes without generating a crash report. Checked after the latest updates had been installed 9/27/2011

After latest update latest update 9/28/2011 9:36 EST. still the same behaviour Software Centre opens, centre progress circle is on screen. Window Grays, Software Centre window closes, no crash report.. Wish I could be more help! Regards.

The most recent dupes I have seen are bug #864707 which has:
 Package: software-center 4.1.23.5

So unless I see a report about a crash with a 4.1.23.6 or higher version I consider this bug fixed. Or is the bugpattern
preventing us from getting more crashfiles in? But even with the pattern this has only "affects 10 people" so I doubt
that this is still a issue. Fwiw I can not reproduce this on my ecryptfs system anymore too.
