Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

The status label in the bottom left corner of the window says "Step 5 of 8" for the "Prepare partitions" step. However the previous step was "Prepare disk space", which also said "Step 5 of 8".

Steps to reproduce:
Run Ubiquity installer.
In Step 5, "Prepare disk space", select the "Manual" option.
Click the "Forward" button.
The install window now shows "Prepare partitions", and the bottom left will read "Step 5 of 8"

Expected results:
Step 6 of 8.
(FYI, clicking the "Forward" button then shows the next step correctly as "Step 7 of 8".)

No, that's intentional - partitioning is multiple pages but one logical step (otherwise we wouldn't be able to predict in advance how many steps would be involved, since the number of pages varies depending on whether you select guided or manual partitioning).

However, migration-assistant doesn't correctly fix up the page numbers if it's disabled, which is why it jumps to 7.

That is not obvious at all to those who aren't familiar with the ubiquity installer.

One possibility is to change the message on the the "Prepare partitions" page to read:
  Step 5 of 8, Page 2
