gnome-system-log displays wrong log file

Reproducable.
Open system log viewer which incl. Xorg.0.log, boot.log, dmesg, kern.log and syslog.
Xorg.0.log is highlighted but not displayed, instead it displays boot.log and half of dmesg.
Expected: Display the log file which is highlighted on start.

Still no change. Snippet from .xession-errors after opening syslog.

In dconf-editor - org.gnome.gnome-system-log, the default is /var/log/messages which doesn't exist anymore in Oneiric /var/log. Made it /var/syslog. Behaviour didn't change. It highlights kern.log and displays dmesg.
