bitcoin gui does not run in Ubuntu 11.04 Unity

After starting bitcoin, the process begins using cpu cycles, but there is no interface. There is no way to tell what it is doing. Must be killed by CLI or System Monitor.

Could you attach a copy of the debug.log file in the profile directory? On Linux it is located at ~/.bitcoin/debug.log
Do you see a lot of disk activity? How long did you wait before killing it?

I didn't saw a log here I will send one now then bitcoind works more or less bitcoin doesn't

from bitcoin-dev irc channel, i've just asked

7:04 @<BlueMatt> compile latest wx trunk instead of wx-2.9

there seems to be a bug in wx 2.9 that was fixed recently and is still
in trunk, that might help.

why aren't there any builds in the bitcoin PPA?
i hope to contribute one soon, as soon i'm finished with autotools
