Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

During Natty development, kdegames-card-data-extra was split (so that at least one game could be put on the CD) and all but one card deck put in kdegames-card-data-extra. As a result, upgraders that had installed it before lose almost all of their card decks. I ran into this and thought initially I had a problem.

I think it would be good if update-manager could check if kdegames-card-data is installed and if kdegames-card-data-extra is available and if so, install kdegames-card-data-extra as part of the upgrade. kdegames-card-data was not included in the default install previously so any upgrader with it installed did it (probably as a card game dependency) and so it would be a regression for them to lose almost all their card decks.

I am not completely sure therefore I wont move it, but wouldn't this bug be better off in that games package? It doesn't seem like its update-managers fault is all i am saying. I would think its the game packages job to keep track of users data.

Don't move it. It's not update-manager's "fault". I'm asking for update-
manager to put a special update rule in place for this case. That's one of
the things it does.
