Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

9.04 to 10.04 is not a normal upgrade path; you should normally step through 9.10 (as described here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UpgradeNotes).

Please could you try running the following commands in a terminal to see if this resolves the issue:

  sudo dpkg-reconfigure openssh-client
  sudo apt-get -f install

Please update this bug report if this does resolve the problem.

I have Entered the commands as advised with the following results.
I am a complete novice when it comes to Linux, so I do not know if "my problem"
Still exists :-)

It looks like the problem encountered during the upgrade has already resolved itself.

As this error is not repeatable and we can't identify the root cause I'm going to mark this bug as 'Invalid'
