Color theme settings not respected

Bug Description

I've been using my desktop with a dark GTK+ theme, and I've noticed that gEDA only partially respects its color settings.

See the attached file for an example: the toolbar is light gray, when it should be the same black as the menus. The same with the separator at the immediate left of the File menu.

I also use a dark theme, and I don't have the problem shown in your screen-shot.

Is it possible your theme is buggy, or that you have a gtkrc file which overrides settings for gschem? Do toolbars in other apps (e.g. gedit) look OK?

Is it possible that it is because we use "tear-off" tabs, that they aren't themed correctly? Unfortunately I can't think of any other common apps which use this feature to test against.

My mistake. Comparing it with gEdit, it seems that the toolbars in both applications are correctly shown in light gray. What might have confused me is the slightly different appearance of the gEDA toolbar, as by looking at the attached screenshot it looks smaller than the GNOME standard ones - not a bug, just an observation.

What still looks a bit out of place is the separator next to the File menu, as it is shown in light gray unlike the rest of the menu. Is that separator really needed? It seems that other GTK applications don't make use of it.

Thanks for looking into this!

I think the separator you're refering to might be the "handle" for tearing off the menu-bar. Since not a great many apps use these, it is possible that the theme writers haven't bothered to check rendering of them.
