Empathy facebook conversation history does not show names

in ubuntu 10.04 when I looked at the previous conversations for facebook contacts all though the contacts facebook ID# would show on the left (not really usable ) their names would appear in the chat history on the right. so I could at least click on each to find the one I wanted

would be good if the left side showed the persons name and not the number.
we dont go by numbers in Facebook

I cant tell from the picture who the person is I have over 1000 contacts in Facebook
need to have the name

thanks for the bug report. this bug is not fixable as facebook does not support this. though you can ask you friends to open facebook.com/username to create a facebook id that is the workaround.

The contacts name appears as the alias in empathy in the connection window
The name/alias is also used during the chat session
But the history reverts back to the long id name
So the app has the info. Facebook is providing it
And previous version in ubunto 10.04 showed the name/alias in the chat
history
