Bug Description

SRU Justification:

Impact: Newer hardware not supported by driver released with Lucid.

Fix: In order to add support without risking regression, the updated driver is provided as part of an additional linux-backports-modules-compat-wireless-2.6.35-lucid.

Testcase: TBD

---

Network module atl1c 1.0.1.0-NAPI is not available in Lucid.

Acer Aspire D260 netbooks require the atl1c network module. The version of the module in Lucid 10.04.0 (1.0.0.1-NAPI) does not support the onboard card [1]. There is a newer version (1.0.0.2-NAPI) in linux-backports-modules-wireless-2.6.32-21-generic which does but results in unstable behaviour. I have tested extensively with version 1.0.1.0-NAPI, which is available in "linux-next" and I am happy with the behaviour.

Accepted linux-backports-modules-2.6.32 into lucid-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!

Confirmed that linux-backports-modules-compat-wireless-2.6.35-2.6.32-25-generic has the updated module.
