For some reason, Empathy lost all my IM accounts (MSN, Gtalk, ICQ) one day.
I tried to re-add them via Edit->Accounts. The "Welcome to Empathy" screen opened up and I chose "Yes, I'll enter my account details now" option.
On the "Enter your account details" page, I selected MSN and entered in my MSN account info. I chose the "No, that's all for now" option and clicked "Forward".
Next came the "Please enter personal details" page. No matter if I selected the "I don't want to enable this feature for now" option or not, clicking on "Apply" the first time did nothing.
After a second click on "Apply", the "An error occurred" screen showed up with the message "The error message was: Applying already in progress". After waiting for around half a minute, the page showed "The error message was: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."
I tried this multiple times with adding different IM accounts (i.e. Gtalk, ICQ), all with the same results. Hence I wasn't able to add any accounts in Empathy.
