Bug Description

I have installed HPLIP using hplip-3.10.5.run script. Printer HP LaserJet p2055dn is installed. When I send text to print it I get status message "Started a print job". Few seconds afher that I get message "Print job is completed". Nothing ever gets printed out. I have check the display of the printer, it doesn't show any error message.

At the end is the output of hp-check -t.

I belive that problem is releated with the fact that at the end of this line
Device URI: hp:/net/HP_LaserJet_P2055dn?zc=NPI203176
there is printer name and not IP address. Same problem I sow here - https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/109017

I can't do the same workaround because when I manually enter IP address, on which hp-probe has found my printer, setup program doesn't find my printer.

If you need any more informations please let me know.

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

Today I head the same problem on another computer with hplip 3.10.6. Luckily I manage to walk around the problem changing device URI in printer settings. The line I have added is this:
dnssd://HP%20LaserJet%20P2055dn%20%5B203176%5D._printer._tcp.local/

Can anyone check those things that I'm reporting?

Hi Naga!

I have successfully add printer with "hp-setup -i IP-Address" (without "-i" it gives me an error).

Can this be implemented somewhere so that other people, who have the same problem, don't have to search for this solution?

Best regards.

Can you please attach "hp-setup -g IP-Address" and "hp-setup -i -g IP-Address" output.
