Bug Description

Installer freeze when unpacking xserver-xorg in Dell Dimension 2400 with video card Intel 82845G/GL from cd ubuntu 6.06 alternative.

I'm not sure whether xserver-xorg is the right package, or this is a debian-installer problem.

Note that bug 55445 is probably a dupe.

If the system is freezing, it's not a debian-installer bug. You can tell whether it's a complete system freeze by pressing Alt-F2 and seeing if you get to a mostly-black screen offering to start a shell (Alt-F1 returns to the installer user interface).

I'm closing this bug, since there has not been any update on the matter, and the freeze could have been due to broken media.
