Bug Description
Binary package hint: light-themes
GTK+ 2.20 introduces the ability to auto show/hide mnemonics when the Alt key is pressed. This feature is disabled by default (see [1] and [2]) and can be enabled adding
gtk-
in GTK+ RC file (such as $HOME/.gtkrc-2.0 for testing purpose).
Could be good enabling it in Ubuntu in order to match the UI appearance of other operating system, as well as to provide a more clean interface.

PS
I've not yet tested how it works in non GTK+ apps like OO.o and Firefox. Just the time to logout and login and I'll provide a shot

:( unfortunately it seems that only pure GTK+ apps are able to support this...
Maybe could be good file bugs against FF and OO.o
