Ok, Husse. How can I help? Where should I file the bugreport?

Is it an Ubuntu issue or a Debian issue? Or is it a kernel issue that will affect every distro???
For your information, I have tried Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10, Linux Mint 8 and Sidux 2009-4 without any luck.

Now I am running Debian Lenny and it is working fine. If I remember right, I did not have this problem with Ubuntu 8.10 either.

It really puzzles me....

I hope you can direct me to someone that can help me get rid of this severe showstopper!

As you see there at least one more with the same problem as us ;-)

In Lenny I had kernel 2.6.26-19

In the mean time I have replaced Lenny with Linux Mint 6 (2.6.27-7-generic) which runs just fine, too.

This problem appeared first time with LINUX Mint 7 / Ubuntu 9.04 as described here:

Hi Husse,

If something needs to be fixed upstream and no action is to be done on it by Linux Mint, then you can do the following:

- mark the bug as "won't fix".
- click on also affect distribution (if Ubuntu) or package (if the problem is with the upstream project directly)
- comment to indicate that it's upstream and the fix won't take place in Linux Mint.

Hi Clem
I assign a few bugs to me because I think there is at lest an element of a
support question in them and intend to take one more look at them before
doing as you suggest (although I did not think of the affects also thing)
Got the flu (mild one) so I'm not thinking so well but that's what I
intended

I also have an travelmate 5315 that shuts down suddenly every now and then. The fan seems to work fine. Infact it is spinning continuous. The notebook starts to react slow and just powers off.
I opened the laptop and replaced the thermal compound but it didn't fix the problem.
Under system profiler, the TZ01 sensor reads 99 degrees celcius, but the status can only updated after reboot.(power off and on) After the reboot, the notebook functions normally for a while.
