Docky appearing in inappropriate situations

Bug Description

The issue is plainly that when Docky is hid in one way or another it "un-hides" or appears when it's not supposed to or when it makes no sense for Docky to show up and say hi.
Examples of this is when:

A window is moved
A window is resized
Compiz exposé is shown
Compiz window switcher is shown, any of them: Scale, ring, cowerflow, traditional.

Works for me, or else I dont understand the problem.

Post a screen-cap of the problem to make it clearer?

The attatched file is a short screencast showing what I mean by the dock appearing when it's not supposed to.
I forgot to show the dock appearing during exposé but I'm sure you can work that out yourself.

there is an app called onBoard, sort of a keyboard, and docky is not afraid of it in intellihide mode. screenshot in attachement.

That's probably not a bug rather a feture. I am presuming that this keyboard is meant to be used together with other applications, and maybe it doesn't recive but leaves focus to the application in which it's putting it's text. And as a result of this, Docky does not intellihide since it only hides from focused windows.

Absolutely, but it is actually annoying, especially since text popups from docky are coming through. Say, when i click on space there is 'xchat' text popup coming through (snap in attachment).

p.s. It is not annoying enough to make some sort of special code for special apps, unless multiple of those would popup in the future.

I don't know if this is the same bug. I created Bug #599905 in the Cardapio project.

When using Docky on the left side it does not recognize Cardapio as a window while it is supposed to hide.
I don't know whether it is easier to fix it in Cardapio or Docky.
See the screenshot for explanation.

Best regards,
Tobias

Not sure if this is the right place to be making this comment, but it's related.

Would it not make sense to have docky hide it's self whenever keyboard input is happening. A lot like how the mouse cursor hides when typing into gnome-terminal. This is one thing that has always annoyed me is when I switch to the terminal I can't see what I am typing unless I shift the mouse off the bottom of the screen.

@Dario: your window switch animation is too long then. If you can make it faster (in Compiz/ccsm, you can) that would fix it. Optionally you can increase the autohide update delay in GConf:

http://wiki.go-docky.com/index.php?title=GConf_Settings

/apps/docky-2/Docky/Interface/AutohideManager/UpdateDelay

The default is 200ms, just make it about 50ms longer than the desktop switch animation time.
