Bug Description

I use two Docky docks, one on the bottom and the other on the left side of the screen. When I open Cardapio it stays under Docky as if it wasn't recognized as a drop down menu.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit, Cardapio is fully updated.

I have added the Docky team to this bug report, because I'm not sure which app is to blame. Hopefully the following info will help us figure out this issue asap.

Cardapio's window made with Glade, so you can check out the UI file in the bzr trunk to get a better idea of what settings I am using for it. Otherwise, here's a short summary:

- Window type: Top level
- Window role: [empty]
- Modal: False
- Type hint: Menu
- Skip taskbar: True
- Skip pager: True
- Urgent: True
- Decorated: False

To Docky devs: do you see any reason why this window is not being detected? What other info do you need from me?

Just to make this clear to the original poster:

This bug has been marked by the Docky devs as a duplicate of another Docky bug. This doesn't mean this specific instance of the bug is Docky's fault, though, and both sides will keep trying to resolve this.

Feel free to add Cardapio to the original bug post too. But seeing as this bug was already reported, I marked it as the duplicate it is.

Also, the bug was confirmed with Gnome's menu, and a few other cases involving Compiz.

I just went ahead and committed a fix that should help out with this issue. This will be in the PPA tonight.

The fix works when Docky is in "autohide" mode, but not so much with "intellihide" or "window dodge" due to the Docky bug 503195.

To summarize, the new behavior is:
* Docky hide = none --> OK (no overlap)
* Docky hide = autohide --> OK (no overlap)
* Docky hide = window dodge --> Fail (amount of overlap depends on where you click)
* Docky hide = intellihide --> Fail (amount of overlap depends on where you click)
