Actually a dup of this bug, only difference is that it's in lucid.

If there is no intention of 'fixing', then a short explanation as to why not will suffice.
To think that this isn't causing confusion for users, well it is and will continue to do so in lucid.
It would probably be better served if u-r-e was split into 2 packages, one that installed the restricted codecs and plug-ins, the other that installed the nonfree apps

I agree that this issue should be considered. Why the break in convention? This has caused some issues and misinformation among some users in the forums. Until Karmic, ubuntu- restricted- extras installed libavcodec- unstripped- 5*, which is the logical behavior. I think splitting ubuntu- restricted- extras may cause further confusion among general users, and returning to the pre-Karmic behavior would be a better solution if no package breakage occurs.
