Bug Description

I have previously successfully used the same card in my amd64 machine (previously used i386 distro - use amd64 version this time round).

After compiling kernel modules and putting firmware into place and rebooting the tuner frontend recognized as 'NXP TDA10048HN DVB-T' during boot and the card and adapter can be selected within the card configuration portion o fthe backend of mythtv. The subtype however is shown as dvb-s.

When i attempt to scan for the channels the settings appear to be those for dvb-s and fail unpon try to tune. Attempt to over ride the default values with those for my location fails.

logs attached.

Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve Mythbuntu by opening this ticket. The version you are running (21954) is actually based on source code that is a few days old. Revision 21960 included some fixes related to this, so could you please update to a newer version and report back here if that resolves your problem? You can either wait for the next push to the standard karmic package (every two to five days) or you can get more frequent (usually nightly) updates by enabling a repo as described here:

http://www.mythbuntu.org/auto-builds

Thank you!

nixer75: 0.22.0~trunk22101 is being pushed to the main repo right now. It has resolved this issue for others - does it resolve yours?

ddafre: A bit puzzling that you're still having this problem - what revision is installed now? Lots of ways to tell: synaptic, or "mythtv-backend --version", or "apt-cache policy mythtv-backend"

Further info
Now after a sys restart MythTV Setup could not recognize the card correctly.
In fact at Card type: "DVB DTV capture card (v3.x)" gives the message:
Frontend ID: Could not get card info forSubtype: Unknown error

I attache dmesh again even if in my oppinion doesn't give more info than the previous one.

After a powerOFF - powerON back to condition as #7
Try to import from channels.conf properly feeded by scan command fails anyway with "Timed out, no signal" at every channel scanned.

Hi,

I installed updated mythtv packages last night (sorry can't recall the exact revision number but it was in the 22000 range. Mythtv was able to successfully identify the frontend for the HVR2200 as DVB-T. I had a couple of issues with the scanning of channels but that seemed to come right after a system power off and check of cables etc.

Thanks for the fix.

Since the DVB-S issue is solved for multiple people, I'd like to move to a new ticket for the channel scan issue. Much easier to deal/track things if there is one (and only one) issue per ticket.

For anyone having channel scanning problems, please capture the failed channel scan after launching with:
mythtv-setup --verbose channelscan,siparser,channel,record

Also, please try to increase the signal and channel timeout for the DVB card - perhaps even set it to completely ignore signal timeout and see if it works.

Thank you!

I have been using the HVR-2200 with Mythbuntu Karmic (compiled support), and the subtype is shown as DVB-T.
