Bug Description

Hello,

I wonder if someone can help? I know this is an Alpha release so please ignore if I've jumped the gun!

I'm trying out Mythbuntu 9.10 Alpha 6 as a clean install using two Nebula Electronics DigiTV cards which are Zarlink MT352 DVB-T. This card works OK in Mythbuntu 8.04, I skipped 8.10 and 9.04. In dmesg the card looks OK, comparing 8.04 and 9.10.

However in capture card setup with a card type of DVB DTV capture card (v3.x) Frontend ID Zarlink MT352 DVB-T looks OK but it has a subtype of DVB-S! Neither card will tune any channels.

I hopefully have attached dmesg from 9.10.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards, Steve.

Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve Mythbuntu by opening this ticket. This issue has been reported previously and is believed to be fixed in a soon-to-appearing update as described in https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+bug/436564.
After upgrading to mythtv 21960 or newer, please report back to that bug if your issue is not resolved.

Thank you!

Hello,

I am experiencing the same issue as the OP.

I am using the Nebula Electronics DigiTV card. In 8.04 and 8.10 this worked perfectly with MythTV. After installing 9.04 the card seems to be detected but channel scanning indicates a Signal/Noise: of 98% and 0% Signal Strength. No channels are detected. Today I installed Ubuntu 9.10 beta and allowed all the updates to be installed. The issue remains with all channels indicating "Timed out, no signal".

I have attached my dmesg from 9.10 beta and would be pleased to help with any tesing.

Thanks.

I know this bug is closed but I wanted to comment here as it specifically refers to the Nebula DigiTV card.

After the fix went in for bug #439163 I found the error messages in dmesg changed and that led me to bug

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/368215 which is still not closed.

It looks to me as if the Nebula card is now a dead duck. As i was building a new system for 9.10 I decided to purchase a Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-TD 500 and that is working OK.
