Dell OptiPlex GX270 - desktop hangs

Bug Description
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using.
ubuntu karmic 9.10
2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.
xserver-
3) What you expected to happen
Desktop doesn't hang.
4) What happened instead
When launching an application or interacting with the desktop the computer hangs. The mouse continues to work, bloq num key works, caps lock don't and the keyboard doesn't respond.

Confirmed. I reported this in bug #416660 (Alpha 5) and 432815 (Alpha 6) also on a Dell Optiplex GX-270.
