Bug Description
Binary package hint: bzr
The Bazaar team would like Ubuntu to upgrade bzr in Karmic from 1.18 to 2.0.0. We're now in deep code freeze on 2.0.0rc2 and shipping either 2.0.0rc2 or 2.0.0 would be fine, depending on when you get to it. We don't expect to request any further changes before Karmic ships.
The main reasons are:
* 2.0.0 is a good foundation for support over the life of the karmic release, as we will keep merging bugfixes (only) to this branch and making 2.0.x releases at least until Karmic+1. Those releases are intended to be suitable for karmic-updates. (See http://
* 2.0rc2 fixes some fairly important bugs present in 1.18, including bug 415508, bug 423818, bug 402652, bug 423506, bug 416732.
* 2.0rc2 uses the 2a format as the default and we want to standardize on that format for this point on, including for Ubuntu development.
Upgrading bzr may/will require upgrading some packages that provide bzr plugins, including especially bzr-git/hg/svn and bzrtools. I think updated versions of these packages are now available.
2.0 is packaged in our ppa <https:/
