Bug Description
I have Breezy installed, and followed the instructions on http://
In the third step, "Downloading and installing the upgrades" (translated from Spanish, may not be accurate), an error dialog appeared which the read: "Can't install 'ubuntu-desktop'. It was impossible to install a required packages. Please report this as a bug".
After closing this dialog another one appeared, but this one without title, content or close button. The main "Upgrading Ubuntu" dialog is still in the third step, blocked, and the progress bar says "Asking for confirmation".
Steps required to reproduce the problem:
1) Execute: gksudo "update-manager - d"
2) Press "Check" button
3) Press the "Upgrade" button that just appeared
4) Press the "Upgrade" button of the new dialog

I noticed that I didn't have the ubuntu-desktop package (though I had all its dependencies and I believe I didn't uninstalled it). I installed that package and then run again the update-manager.
This time I got another error: "Could not calculate the upgrade. A unresolvable problem occured while calculating the upgrade. Please report this as a bug.". The application exited cleanly after than, reverting the changes made to sources.list.
I will try a manual dist-upgrade, to test if this is really a problem with apt-get.
