Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I installed 9.10 to a USB stick, and when I returned to the computer, the installation was finished and there was a crash report. This was *NOT* a live USB install, but a normal install just like to a hard disk. The / partition is aout 6 or 7 GB. I have not had a problem doing the same thing with 9.04.

I saved the logs, but see no way to attach them using this Web report page.

I did not generate the report summary, just left it the way it was.

I am confirming this issue. This happened today using the Xubuntu Karmic Development Release dated 20090714. Installing from the liveCD desktop, step 5 of 8, partitioning the hard drive. When the 'Forward' button is clicked, Ubiquity reports this crash. In a few seconds, it does proceed to the next step.

Same problem here. After selecting manual partitioning, choosing a partition, clicking on the change button, selecting ext4 filesystem and / as mount point and marking it as to be formatted, I saw there was an apport crash report generated. I'm using Karmic Alpha 3.

i think apport automatically marks crashers as private, but in the case of the installer running from a live CD the should not be an sensitive information. i have unlocked it.

This bug was fixed in the package ubiquity - 1.99.7

---------------
ubiquity (1.99.7) karmic; urgency=low

  [ Mario Limonciello ]
  * mythbuntu_ui:
    - Hide step_label during the last step just prior to reboot. (LP: #412823)
    - Add a GtkCellRendererText and ListStore to drivers step. The previous
      conversion from glade->gtkbuilder appears to have not done for us.
    - Link to the gtkbuilder remote file from mythbuntu-common.
    - Fix broken MySQL service by mythbuntu-common changes.
  * gtk:
     - Drop logic to support glade files.
  * Drop depends on python-glade2

  [ Colin Watson ]
  * Upgrade to debhelper v7. There's still some fairly significant ugliness
    in our debian/rules, but this is a slight improvement.

  [ Michael Terry ]
  * kde: Enable timezone translation
  * gtk: Remove separators from dialogs
  * gtk: Convert glade files to GtkBuilder files (LP: #403542), which required
    a minimum gtk+ version bump to 2.12
  * Add menu icons for oem-config-prepare*.desktop (LP: #412832)

  [ Harald Sitter ]
  * Install the KDE desktop file to applications/kde4/ to prevent it from showing
    up as KDE 3 application in KRunner (happens when stored in applications/kde/)

  [ Roman Shtylman ]
  * kde: fix text overflow/clipping on user info page when presented with errors
   (LP: #413127)

  [ Evan Dandrea ]
  * Use "Require my password" rather than "Require a password" for the
    sake of clarity. Thanks Matthew Paul Thomas.
  * Reset the internal pointer to the segment to be resized when
    clearing the contents of the segmented bar in the GTK frontend
    (LP: #386982). Thanks Eitan Isaacson!
