Bug Description

Binary package hint: lilypond

Given that 8.04 is a LTS edition, are there any plans to backport the newer releases of Lilypond to 8.04? Barring that, are there any instructions anywhere for how to create my own backport "the Ubuntu way"? :)

heh ... ah .. no, actually, I think I meant this:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/hardy-backports/+bug/332712

I found the backport process docs after posting the bug comment here and
then thinking, "I wonder if there is a way to REQUEST backports?" -- I had
foolishly thought the backports just happened, you know, elves somewhere
going through the package lists saying "gee, this looks like a fun package
to backport?" and the others saying "yes, let's!" :)

Since the request already exists, I think this can be closed as a duplicate.
