adobe flash player won't play video on web

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

will not play any video on web that uses adobe flash player. looked at adobe player files in file system and all those files have a lock icon by them. maybe need to unlock those somehow

once the terminal loads type: apt-cache policy flashplugin-nonfree
highlight the output of that command
right click terminal window
left click "copy"

Medium importance. Since the flashplugin doesn't even show according to reporter assigning to mozillateam (as per the mozilla bug triage wiki)

Can you please remove --purge flash and re-install it.
We have had other issues as well with use with notebook remix. can someone please confirm that this only is seen in notebook remix?
The locked files can be caused by running firefox as root check permissions of firefox as well to see if they are locked.
