Bug Description

With new install of Ubuntu 9.04, on an old Dell dimension 2400, his is what I got from 'apt-get install phpmyadmin':

"dbconfig-common: writing config to /etc/dbconfig-common/phpmyadmin.conf
*** WARNING: ucf was run from a maintainer script that uses debconf, but
the script did not pass --debconf-ok to ucf. The maintainer
script should be fixed to not stop debconf before calling ucf,
and pass it this parameter. For now, ucf will revert to using
             old-style, non-debconf prompting. Ugh!

Please inform the package maintainer about this problem.

Creating config file /etc/dbconfig-common/phpmyadmin.conf with new version

Creating config file /etc/phpmyadmin/config-db.php with new version"

On trying to access http://localhost/phpmyadmin I got the bug message.

During the install of phpmyadmin you should have been asked a few question. I take it you opted to use dbconfig-common to configure your database settings? Do you remember the answers you gave and the responses you got?

Also, the last respons I can see in the attached DpkgTerminalLog.txt looks like a failed attempt to install/setup a MySQL-server? Was that something you did before the apt-get install phpmyadmin?

Mysql had already been installed. I don't know why I got the failed install
message. Since Mysql was already configured, I opted NOT to use
dbconfig-common to configure the settings. Then I got the
error.

Late last night I did a purge & remove of phpmyadmin and repeated the
process ACCEPTING to have dbconfig-common configure the settings. That
fixed it.

Thanks for the quick reply, nice to see that. I hope the previous
information
helps.
