sound converter does not open remote folder

Bug Description

Binary package hint: soundconverter

I can browse a remote folder, but can't select it.

I run SC on my Ubuntu Intrepid laptop, and my music library is on a Ubuntu Intrepid server.

The remote file system is mounted - the sftp icon is on the desktop - SC can browse to the folder, but when I select it nothing happens.

I expect to be able to convert a remote folder, so I guess this is a bug.

Environment:
Ubuntu 8.10
Sound Converter 1.3.2 installed via Synaptics

Please paste here the output of "soundconverter --debug" while reproducing the problem. Thank you for your help.
This is likely https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/soundconverter/+bug/384617 and should be fixed in karmic.

This seems to be the same bug like #386849. It's fixed in the developent version, so you can either wait until Ubuntu 9.10 is released (october 27) or try if the development package can be installed manually (i don't have Ubuntu 8.10 here to check) from http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/soundconverter.
